Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 May 2026
These Terms govern your use of Mosaicery(the “Service”), a web-based mosaic crochet pattern editor. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who we are
Mosaicery is operated by Mosaicery, an independent digital service provider based in the European Union.
You can contact us at hello@mosaicery.com.
2. The Service
Mosaicery lets you design mosaic crochet patterns visually on a grid, validate stitch logic, and export print-ready PDFs. The Service is delivered as a web application accessible at mosaicery.com.
We offer two tiers:
- Free — up to 3 saved patterns, a single-cell brush, and basic PDF chart export.
- Pro— unlimited patterns, all brush sizes, gauge calculator & planner, word instructions, and combined-repeat shorthand in exports. Billed monthly (€7.99) or yearly (€69.99 — about €5.83/month, saving 27%) via Stripe.
We may change features at any time. Material changes that affect your paid tier will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance.
3. Your account
To use Mosaicery you must:
- Be at least 16 years old. Under GDPR, EU Member States may set this age between 13 and 16 for parental-consent-free processing of your data — we apply 16 across the EU to keep things simple.
- Provide accurate information when you register.
- Keep your password (or your linked Google account) secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms (see §7).
4. Subscription, billing, and cancellation
4.1 Plans & prices
Mosaicery Pro is available as a monthly (€7.99) or yearly (€69.99) subscription. All prices are shown in EUR and include applicable VAT for EU customers; the exact rate is calculated at checkout based on your country.
4.2 Billing
Payment is processed by Stripe (Stripe's consumer terms). By upgrading you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method:
- Monthly plan — every month from the upgrade date, until you cancel.
- Yearly plan — once a year from the upgrade date, until you cancel.
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it a few times per its standard schedule. If the retries fail, your subscription reverts to the Free tier and you keep access to your patterns (subject to the free-tier limits).
4.3 Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from Account → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Pro features until then, after which your account drops to the Free tier. Your saved patterns stay; you simply can't create new ones above the free limit until you delete some or upgrade again.
There is no early-termination fee.
4.4 EU 14-day right of withdrawal & refunds
Mosaicery is a digital service that you start using immediately after upgrading. Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services — but you waive that right when you confirm at checkout that you want immediate access. By clicking Upgrade you expressly request that the Service starts immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once it does.
Outside of that, payments are non-refundable. We don't refund partial months or years if you cancel early — your subscription simply continues until the period ends.
Your statutory rights as a consumer (for example, the right to a refund where the service is materially defective) remain unaffected.
4.5 Price changes
We may change our prices. New prices apply to renewals only and take effect at the start of your next billing period. We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before any price increase, and you can cancel before then to avoid it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to create or share patterns that infringe third-party rights or that promote hatred, violence, or illegal activity.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service itself. (Your patterns belong to you — see §6.)
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source code, except as expressly permitted by law.
- Try to bypass usage limits (free-tier caps, rate limits), probe the Service for vulnerabilities without permission, or interfere with its security.
- Use bots or automated scripts to create accounts, generate load, or scrape data.
- Share your account credentials. Each account is for a single person.
Violation may result in suspension or termination of your account, with or without prior notice. Serious or repeated abuse may be reported to authorities.
6. Your patterns and content
You retain all rights to the patterns you create. We make no claim on your designs.
By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and process your patterns solely to provide the Service to you — for example, rendering the editor, generating PDFs, and syncing across devices. This licence ends when you delete the pattern or close your account.
You can export your patterns as PDF at any time. Account deletion permanently removes your patterns from our database within 30 days (backups roll over on the same schedule).
Mosaicery itself — including the editor UI, software, name, and logo — remains our intellectual property.
7. Termination
You can close your account at any time from Account → Settings → Delete account. Any active subscription is cancelled as part of the deletion flow.
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You materially breach these Terms (especially §5).
- Payment fails repeatedly.
- We're required to by law.
If we terminate without cause, we will refund any prepaid amount for the unused portion of your subscription, on a pro-rata basis.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Outages can happen because of:
- Maintenance windows (scheduled out of peak hours where possible).
- Underlying infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase, Stripe) experiencing issues — we don't control these but rely on them.
- Force majeure events — network outages, denial-of-service attacks, regulatory actions, war, natural disasters, and anything else outside our reasonable control.
We use commercially reasonable efforts to restore service promptly. We do not offer a written SLA or service credits.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be error-free.
Pattern validation and stitch generation in Mosaicery are best-effort. We do not guarantee that an exported PDF will produce a working physical crochet piece — please always knit/crochet a swatch before committing to a full project.
This section does not exclude any warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profit, goodwill, data, or business opportunity.
- Service interruptions caused by third-party providers (Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Google) or events outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable consumer law in your country of residence.
11. Privacy and data protection
We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). What we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and your rights are all set out in our Privacy Policy.
In short:
- We store your email and your pattern data in Supabase (EU region).
- Payment information is handled directly by Stripe — we never touch your card number.
- Hosting and basic page-load metadata go through Vercel.
You can export your patterns or delete your account at any time. Account deletion permanently removes all associated personal data and patterns within 30 days.
12. Third-party services
Mosaicery relies on the following sub-processors:
- Vercel Inc. — hosting and edge delivery.
- Supabase Inc. — authentication and database (EU region for our project).
- Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. — payment processing.
- Google LLC — only if you sign in with Google. We never receive your Google password.
Each has its own terms and privacy practices. By using Mosaicery you consent to your data being processed by them as required to operate the Service.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material — for example, it affects price, refund policy, your obligations, or how we use your personal data — we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
We keep older versions on file — write to us and we'll send you the version that applied when you signed up.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the laws of the country in which the user is habitually resident.
If you have a complaint, please email us first at hello@mosaicery.com. We aim to resolve every issue within 14 days.
EU consumers can also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15. Miscellaneous
- Severability. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
- No waiver.Failing to enforce a right doesn't waive it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor in a business sale, with notice to you.
- Entire agreement. These Terms — together with the Privacy Policy and any pricing-page disclosures at signup — are the full agreement between us.
- Language. The authoritative version of these Terms is English. Translations are provided for convenience.
